Early Buddhist Teachings
Ancient wisdom for modern life
FoEBT's Sutta Study Zoom room opens
on Thursday, 1 Aug. 2024, 7-8 pm UK time. We continue discussion of DN2.
Friends of Early Buddhist Teachings (FoEBT) is an educational charity promoting the teachings of the Buddha as understood and practised in accordance with early Buddhist texts.
FoEBT focuses on the period of the time from the Buddha until the Second Council, currently understood to be approximately 383* BCE. Of particular interest are the Sutta piṭaka, the Vinaya piṭaka, and their parallels.
FoEBT supports the practice of laypersons and monastics but is not exclusively affiliated with any modern-day Buddhist lineage. FoEBT is an education organisation and not a religious one, and this is reflected in the educational charitable purposes of our Constitution. Our trustees are a small group of individuals in Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Friends of Early Buddhist Teachings (FoEBT) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), charity number SC047650.
